[Notice] Submission of thesis for doctorate degree for Spring, 2014

Those who scheduled to graduate in February 2015 have to submit the thesis for degree within the designated period as below. So please refer to the information about thesis for doctorate degree for spring semester, 2014 .

 

1. Period of submitting the thesis and paying thesis review fees : Oct.2nd(Thu), 2014 ~ Oct. 10th(Fri)

 

2. Payment of Thesis Review Fees

- Thesis Review Fees : 550,000 KRW

- Account of payment for thesis review fees : Virtual Payment Account of Each department office (Contact to Department Office)

- Please pay the fees with your name (Student's name)

 

3. Submission of thesis : Application on website - Submit the required documents to department office

 

1) Application procedure on the Website

: Login to AIMS2 portal website ‘Academic Information for Graduate School(대학원 학사)' 'Graduation(졸업)'(on the upper side) 'Register Thesis Plan'(on the left side) Input the title of the thesis (Korean and English) Print out the form of "Petition to review the thesis for Doctorate degree" Submit it to department office Click 'Registration of dissertation publication'Upload the materials of dissertation publication

 

2) Required Documents to submit to the department office

- Petition to review the thesis for Doctorate degree

- List of review members

- Recommendation letter of external review member

- Personal Resume (Free Style)

- Research Ethics Compliance Statement

- Confirmation of Dissertation Publication (Attach the page to the printed copy of the dissertation)

- Certificate of the expectant publication on academic article (when scheduled to publication) (Attach the page to the thesis for degree)

* Applicants who submit the certificate of the expectant publication on academic article have to the page of printed copy of the dissertation within the period of review)

 

3) Required documents to submit to review member for thesis

- Thesis for review

- Personal Resume (Free style)

* Thesis title have to be written by English and Korean. (In case of thesis written by English, you can write in English title on thesis for degree.

* You can download all Forms for thesis on the website of graduate school (http://grad.ajou.ac.kr). Board (게시판)Forms(서식자료실)

 

4. Qualification for paper screening judges

- Full-time professor in Ajou Univ. majored same field of study with students

- (Medical Field) Full-time professor with doctorate degree or Associate Professor and above in Ajou Univ.

- Full-time professor (associate professor and above in Ajou Univ.) with doctorate degree and same major field of study with students and same position in Ajou. (when the student worked in Ajou Univ. as a professor)

- Those who do not related to applicants as relatives

 

5. Organization of thesis review members

- Thesis review members are composed at least 5 people with doctorate degree.( including 2 Professors or more (exceptional in case of medical field), 1 or 2 external review member (available honorary professor as one of 2 external review members)

- Academic advisor and external thesis review members do not become a chairman of thesis review committee.

- Those who have a minor have to include professor of minor field of study as a thesis review member.

- Majority of thesis members have to major in the same field of study related to thesis contents.

7. Qualification and required documents for submission of thesis

 

1) Qualification : Any student who satisfied the following

- A student who has completed doctorate courses or scheduled to complete

- A student who passed the qualifying examination (foreign language test and comprehensive examination)

- A student who received the thesis advisement for two or more semesters or a student scheduled to have the thesis advisement

- A student who has yet to have 10 years for doctorate program after the admission (excluding the period of leave)

- Students who complete the courses (taking all required credits for graduation) and research registration

- A student in the doctorate program who contributed (scheduled) to the academic publication on the contents of the degree thesis as follow

a. Science, engineering fields : Two domestic articles or one overseas article

b. Medical fields : Two or more articles published in SCI journal, or the journal of equal grade

c. Humanities and social science fields : One article or more at home or abroad

- A student in the integrated program who contributed (scheduled) to the academic publication on the contents of the degree thesis as follows.

a. Science and engineering fields : One or more overseas articles

b. Medical fields : Two or more articles published in SCI journal, or the journal of equal grade

c. Humanities and social science fields : Two or more domestic articles

* Dissertation Publication means a dissertation published in academic journal after entering the doctorate courses. Dissertation Publication is only recognized in case of exact match between contents of thesis for degree and contents of publication in academic journal.

 

2) Required Documents

1. Petition to review the thesis for degree

* Submit the form after applying on the website of graduate school

2. List of thesis review members

3. Recommendation letter of external review member

4. Personal Resume(Free style)

5. Confirmation of Dissertation Publication

6. Cover page of the printed copy of the dissertation

* when scheduled to publication, Certificate of the expectant publication on academic article or cover page of the dissertation

* Those who scheduled to submit the certificate of the expectant publication have to submit the cover page of the printed copy of the dissertation within the period of review.

7. 5 copies of thesis for review

( Submit 5 copies of thesis for review to review members(paper screening judges) in person)

* If you do not submit the final printed copy of thesis within designated period, you are left off the list of graduation.

 

 

 

You have to submit the final printed copy of thesis to Library in Ajou.
