Qualifications for Admission

- New Student / Transferred Student

- In order to be admitted as a graduate student, applicants are expected to have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or be in the final semester to obtain a Bachelor's degree at an internationally recognized university or college. Otherwise, applicants should have an equivalent qualification to a bachelor's degree which is approved by the Ministry of Education of their respective

 

Application Procedure
Application Materials

   - Must complete the online application form first. (http://gsis.ajou.ac.kr)

   - Applicants must upload all the documents listed below during their online application and send all original documents to the following address before the deadlines:

  • Graduate School of International Studies(GSIS), Ajou University
  • Yulgok Hall #155, 206 Worldcup-ro, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea

Required Documents

1. A Copy of Printed Online Application Form Must be printed and signed before you post it.

2. Original Notarized/Apostilled Undergraduate Diploma or Graduation Certificate

   - First, make a copy of your diploma or graduation certificate

​​   - The copy must be notarized/apostilled

​​   * Notarization should be done by the Korean Embassy. For apostille countries, you should get an apostille

​​   * Do not submit your original diploma as we CANNOT return any documents once it has been submitted

3. Original Notarized/Apostilled Transcript from Undergraduate Institution

​​   Notarization should be done by the Korean Embassy. For apostille countries, you should get an apostille

4. Original Verification of Deposit(VOD) of the person responsible for students’ expenses

​​   - Should have more than USD 20,000 in the deposit

​​   - For your information, you might need another original VOD for your student visa application

   4-1. Relationship Certificate (ONLY when the VOD is under the name of the applicant’s parents or sponsor)

   4-2. Certificate of Income (ONLY when the VOD is under the name of the applicant’s parents or sponsor)

5. [GSIS Form] Two(2) Recommendation Letters from professor(s) at an undergraduate institution

​​   One letter may come from your supervisor at your workplace (if applicable)

6. Statement of Purpose (Will be requested to complete during the online application form)

7. [GSIS Form] Agreement Form for Academic Verification

​​   - Provide the details of the staff in charge of academic records from undergraduate institution

8. English Proficiency Test Report Form

​​   - Submit the official copy that has a Test Report Form(TRF) Number or Registration Number

​​   - Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International Language Testing System(IELTS)

      or Equivalent English Proficiency Test Score

​​   * Above TOEFL-IBL 80, IELTS 5.5

​​   * Students from the countries where the official language is English should submit the Certificate that shows

      the medium of language was Englsih in the undergraduate program

9. A Copy of Passport

10. A Copy of Alien Registration Card(ARC) (ONLY if you have an ARC issued by the Korean Government)

11. Application Fee Receipt

​​   - Application Fee: USD 100 or KRW 100,000

​​   - Only wire transfer is available

12. A passport-sized photo (plain background)

※ Undergraduate diploma(or Graduation Certificate) and Transcript should be provided with original notarized/apostille documents.

※ When original notarized/apostille documents are written other than English should be submitted after being translated into English and being notarized.
